What should we make of this roster?

The good news for the U.S. is that there’s some legitimate juice at the top of the lineup. Alex Tuch scored 36 goals for the Sabres last season. The bad news? It’s basically just Tuch, at least as a proven NHL goal-scorer. Jake Guentzel planned to play, as coach David Quinn told The Athletic, but is dealing with a minor injury. — Gentille

Which prospects are worth watching?

The first-round picks in Cutter Gauthier (Philadelphia) and Matt Coronato (Calgary) will be very interesting to watch. Lane Hutson (Montreal), Sean Farrell (Montreal) and Carter Mazur (Detroit) are also strong prospects to monitor. Gauthier and Hutson are both very young as 2004-born players, so it will be interesting how they fare at this high of a level. — Pronman
