Schefter says the Saints would save $12.8 million by cutting connections with Winston after June 1 but pay $11.2 million in dead money before then.

Winston’s New Saints Salary 

Signing bonus: $14 million, 1.2 Guaranteed $1.2 million basic salary in 2022.

Third, in 2023, the base wage will be $12.8 million, with $5.8 million guaranteed upon signing and for injuries on the third day of the league year.

Winston’s 2023 starting pay is $12,800,000. He will have a $15,600,000 cap hit and a $11,200,000 dead cap.
